KTP has been a leading supplier of prewired sockets and electrical accessories to the towbar industry for over 25 years.
In recent years towbar electrics have become increasingly more complex. Vehicle electrics have become more computerised with onboard Canbus systems which enables car manufacturers to incorporate safety features for passenger safety. Features such as TSP (trailer stability program) ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Program) Intelligent braking, Hill Start Assist, Interactive levelling suspension and Crash anticipation are now common in many vehicles. These safety features are activated when using dedicated vehicle specific wiring kits.
KTP supply towing relays including the Canbus multiplex seven way relay which overcomes bulb failure warning problems in towbar electrics. Wired correctly, it draws its power directly from the battery and is switched by the relays. This current is not detected by bulb failure warning devices in the vehicle. There is no requirement to fit a separate buzzer as the Canbus multiplex has a built in AWD (Audible Warning Device)and also features an LED power indicator.
KTP supply only quality prewired sockets using the best quality sockets available and has a reputation for quality and service. A reputation earned over 25 years of wiring 7 pin sockets.
Since September 2008 the UK adopted the Europeon 13 pin system to replace the 7 pin N and 7 pin S system. All caravans manufactured from September 2008 have a ISO 13 pin connector as standard. This socket has 13 pins which covers the functions of the old 7 pin N and 7 pin S sockets. KTP supply a full range of 13 pin prewired sockets to satisfy these requirements and stock a full range of adapters to convert the old system into 13 pin.
